Meet Wolfcaster, the new game by Saitama Studios
Early insights into the highly anticipated NFT-based game
It’s time. I’m excited to present to you all, the big project alongside SaitaMask, Wolfcaster. The highly anticipated game has finally been teased by the Saitama development team. In this article we will go over the main points and discuss the innovative and exciting game planned ahead.
In case you missed it, you can watch the full one hour interview with Steve and Gabe here.
What do we know?
Saitama development team has hired several offshore developers specialized in game development to assist the creation of Wolfcaster. Essentially, the creation of “Saitama Studios”, which for now will solely focus on Wolfcaster. Saitama Studios is a fantastic decision made by the devs, as it allows for their more creative minds to flourish, within the gaming space but also within the media space such as NFTs. It also enables the team to have a easier point of contact with other companies specifically specialized in gaming that can collaborate with the studio, directly.
Wolfcaster itself, will be NFT based and will be following an RPG-like structure where players can buy, sell and train their own wolves. The game will be multiplayer and allow for co-op and direct opponent duels.
Wolfcaster teases
In the video, Gabe explained some of the key points behind Wolfcaster’s structure. Firstly, we know that Wolfcaster with follow an action-game theme, with an RPG-like, anime artwork theme.
Perhaps the influences we can draw on here, is Pokemon. For example, Gabe explained the “active” and “passive” way to play Wolfcaster.
Active methods will involve manually choosing your NFT based wolf fighter, that overtime, gains skill, attributes and unlocks various things by being a proactive player.
The passive way of playing, (from what I know so far), is based on some sort of betting mechanism with other players. Perhaps a similar mechanism to Clash of Clans were your proactive progress, will determine your offline/passive success.
Community, even in the game
With the confirmed mechanics of leveling and growth of your wolves, you will be able to leave or “lend” your wolf to a pack, where it will receive experience and level up alongside the pack, sort of like a clan. By the end of it, your wolf returns at a higher level, gaining more value, allow you to sell or continue to fight others.
Leaderboards, seasonal challenges are confirmed
In order to keep players interested, the developers hired several artists to ensure the graphics will be top notch. On top of that, there will be challenges and awards, some seasonal and limited it order to create leaderboards and allow people to challenge each other.

Why this game could explode in popularity
With all the love and care being put into this game, I’m certain it will be successful. But there’s two key points I want to hit on here. Firstly, we know that the gaming NFT marketplace is the potential future at this point. People love games, but they also love to earn while playing. We saw games like Axie Infinity just explode with a similar structure to Wolfcaster.
But the main point I want to discuss, is that, Wolfcaster is not only going to be on Android and iOS, but potentially Steam. As of yet, there is no NFT based games on Steam (that I know of), and Steam is one of the largest gaming marketplaces in the world.
So the future of Wolfcaster looks very promising.
